DAN DARE SOLUTION!!!
Did you ever manage to complete Dan Dare : Pilot of the Future? Yes? Well we want to hear from you! Yes, that's right, YOU!!!
Sinclair Lair visitor Michael Dorrington contacted us recently with the following plea:
"I have put all five of the keys into the self-destruct machine but I don't seem to be able to find Digby (or whoever) on the surface to take me off the asteriod. So I destroy the asteriod and thus save the world, but die in the process. Is it possible to get picked up? If so, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me how."
He added: "Dan Dare is probably the best game I played on the Spectrum."
Now, here at the Lair, we're sure we've heard people asking about this puzzler before. But for the life of us, we can't remember what the solution is. So that's where you lot come in! If you can help Michael, please email us pronto at alex@waddington.fslife.co.uk.
Michael first became stuck on the first Dan Dare game way back in the days when he owned a pukka Sinclair Spectrum +2. These days he's playing the game using an emulator - but he's still trying to escape from that blasted asteroid!
At one time he had a "crazy" plan was to use the emulator to map out all the levels of Dan Dare in screenshots!
Who knows, if you lot out there manage to help him complete the game, he may just do it!
